Meet Dan Hildebrand

Dan Hildebrand assumed the role of Head of School at Forsyth on June 2, 2018, after an extensive search conducted by the Head Search Committee consisting of Board members, parents, and teachers, and a unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees.

Dan comes to Forsyth after serving as the Interim Head of School at Visitation Academy in St. Louis for more than two years. He has more than 30 years of experience as an educator, coach, and administrator. 

Before moving to St. Louis, Dan served as the Head of School at Robinson School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. During his four years there, he increased enrollment, upgraded facilities with new technologies, expanded teaching programs, established scholarships, and implemented new professional development programs. 

Prior to that, Dan was the Head of School for The Calverton School in Maryland for eight years. During his tenure there, he oversaw a multi-million-dollar capital campaign, tripled the enrollment of students of color, implemented the International Baccalaureate Program, and worked on the designs for a campus expansion.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Chicago, where he was a collegiate All-American and winner of the prestigious Amos Alonzo Stagg Medal for athletics, scholarship, and character. While there, he also received the Barnard Prize in American History, Department of History.
