Faculty & Staff Spotlight | Becky Stierwalt, Grade 1
What would be your first question after waking up from being frozen for 100 years?
Pleeeeaaaase tell me: have the Cubs managed to win at least one more World Series in the past 100 years?!?!
If you were to be given a superlative when you were in school, what would it have been?
I actually was the lucky winner of a superlative my senior year of high school: I was voted by my classmates as “Most Gullible.” Not at all a surprise for those who know me! I’ll believe pretty much anything you tell me.
What do you love about Forsyth?
So many things! I love the people, first and foremost. Judy (my teaching partner), our students, their families, all of my colleagues – I learn so much from everyone here, and I can honestly say that I look forward to coming to work every single day. I also love our curriculum and what we offer students here. It has been amazing to experience the School as a parent, too, these last couple of years! It’s given me a whole new level of understanding and appreciation for what my colleagues do. I will never forget a conversation I had with my mom after my first interview here. I was trying to describe Forsyth to her, and I finally just told her that to work here would be my dream job, so I’d better temper my expectations in case I wasn’t hired. Now in my sixth year, I still feel that same awe I felt when I first visited and the same gratitude to be here that I felt on my first day.
