Faculty & Staff Spotlight | Ellen DeFilippo, Art
If you could take the kids on a field trip anywhere in the world, where would you take them?
My first thought was Barcelona, Spain to see the incredibly inspiring architecture of Antonio Gaudí, and see the Picasso Museum, and just walk the streets, soaking up the glorious city. On the other hand, I also think it would be fun to go somewhere rich in culture where none of us have been...maybe somewhere in Indonesia. I think it would be wonderful because we would all experience it together, with new eyes.
If you didn't have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
If I didn’t have to sleep, I would spend about half of the extra time playing my violin and the other half of the time making drawings or working with clay or wood. I love the thought of having extra time to do the things I love to do!
What do you love about Forsyth?
I love that we are like a big family. Students grow up together like siblings. I feel lucky that I teach them for six years and have the opportunity to watch them grow, mature, build their skills, and develop into young artists. It is a real joy for me. I do miss them when they graduate.
