Faculty & Staff Spotlight | Justin Harris, Athletic Director
What is one of your hidden talents?
I've always been able to spin a basketball on my finger very well and can whistle. I do it for the Jr-Kindergarten class a lot because they think it is magical and it keeps them quiet in line. If you asked a JK student about my talents, they would likely say I am a magician! I'm also trying to convince the entire lower school that if we put a spoon under our pillows, oranges on the windowsill, ice cubes in the toilet, and wear our pajamas inside out…that we can make it snow enough for a snow day!
Have you ever stuck a foreign object up your nose?
I was once being silly with CeCe when she was younger and got a Cheerio stuck in my nostril. I had to use needle nose pliers to get it out. I also had a termite get stuck in my nose during a baseball game. That came out easily with a good sneeze!
What do you love about Forsyth?
I really love the kids at Forsyth more than anything else. Coach Stone and I are the only teachers in the school that get to spend every day with them from Kindergarten-Grade 6 so we sort of become their parents away from home, which leads to some great, meaningful relationships. It also doesn't hurt that our community has supportive parents that know what we do in our PE classes will make their kids stronger both mentally and physically in the long run. Forsyth parents know how dedicated we are to hard work every day in PE and we appreciate their trust.
