Faculty & Staff Spotlight | Meredith Harris, Grade 3
What accomplishments fill you with pride so far this year?
I am very proud of the work Mary McCormack and I have completed for the ISACS Accreditation next year. The video of students describing the process helped the community understand what was going to happen in a fun way!
If you could create your own jelly-belly flavor, what would it be?
This is a tough one because there are already so many amazing flavors out there, as you know. I would probably go back to my NOLA roots and create a Crawfish Monica Jelly Belly or a King Cake Jelly Belly.
What do you love about Forsyth?
So many things, but since I teach Grade 3 I will pick only three to share. First, I love Green & White Day. Field Day (as it was called at my school) was always my favorite day, and Green & White Day does not disappoint. The energy and enthusiasm of the students are incredible. The brightly colored teams turn our campus into a rainbow. Second, I love the freedom that teachers have at Forsyth. If I want to do Wig Wednesday, I can. If I want to tweak a unit, I can. It keeps the job interesting and exciting. Lastly, I love that I get to go to work with my family. Being a working mom means you miss some stuff, but at Forsyth I am still able to attend assemblies, say hi on the recess yard, and grab a hug on the way to class. Having CeCe, Lily, and even Coach Harris at the same place is awesome. I just wish our dogs, Rolen and Yogi, could come too!
