Extended Day Program

The Extended Day Program at Forsyth encompasses those hours before school (Before Care, 7:00–8:00am) and after school (After Care, 3:30–6:00pm), plus After-School Classes, League Sports, Private Music Lessons, Winter and Spring Break Camps, and childcare on "no-school" faculty work days.

Program Hours:

  • Before Care: 7:00–8:00am

  • After Care: 3:30–6:00pm
    (3:00–6:00pm on Thursdays)

  • Winter & Spring Break Camps: 8:00am–5:00pm

  • Childcare on "No-School" Faculty Work Days: 8:00am–5:00pm

Program Structure:

After Care begins with a snack before any scheduled activities, including sports practices. Students without scheduled activities play outside (weather permitting) or in classrooms grouped by grade. Students can also read or work independently on homework in the library.

Program Pricing:

  • Annual $50 registration fee per family

  • Before & After Care: $10 per student per hour, $15 per hour for Eyas

  • Winter & Spring Break Camps: $11.50 per student per hour, $15 per hour for Eyas

  • Childcare Days: $11.50 per student per hour, $15 per hour for Eyas

Late pick-ups incur a flat $25 fee.

Childcare is provided at no charge on early dismissal Thursdays (3:00–3:30pm only) and during a student's Parent/Caregiver-Teacher Conference (one per semester, two per school year).

Families that receive tuition assistance also receive 50% off Before Care & After Care, plus a percentage discount on League Sports fees.

After-School Classes

After-School Classes further enhance a student's After Care experience. Four six-week sessions are offered each school year; rotating offerings include chess, tennis, painting, drama, science, homework, and more. Pricing varies depending on age, subject area, materials, program length, and vendor partners.

Private music lesson offerings include piano, voice, violin, guitar, and ukulele. Students are expected to commit to an entire semester of weekly lessons held after school at Forsyth (mutually agreed-upon days and times). Families are expected to provide an instrument for their student (excluding piano). Lesson pricing varies by instrument and instructor.

League Sports

Forsyth participates in the Clayton Recreation League; offerings include soccer, girls’ volleyball, basketball, t-ball, baseball, and softball. Practices are held after school at Forsyth; games are held at the Center of Clayton or Charles A. Shaw Park.

Students in Pre-Kindergarten and Junior-Kindergarten participate in a soccer skills clinic with St. Louis Scott Gallagher SC at Forsyth.

The $240 per-season fee includes league fees and uniforms for season use.
