A Transformative Learning Environment
More than a new building, the Williams Family Innovation Hub takes the Forsyth experience To New Heights. Designed to complement our distinctive campus and hands-on approach to education, it will create new opportunities for students to follow their curiosity, make cross-disciplinary connections, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
The Williams Family Innovation Hub will feature flexible spaces that support programs and partnerships not currently possible on campus. It will enable us to host organizations like Girls Who Code and the St. Louis Chess Club, placing Forsyth at the center of imaginative, community-based learning. It will also foster meaningful cross-grade-level collaboration, creating new opportunities for Big Friends and Little Friends to learn and grow together.
A dedicated Makerspace on the first floor will provide an intentionally built classroom for Forsyth's Innovation & Design program for students in Senior-Kindergarten through Grade 6. Equipped with tools ranging from traditional hand and power tools to advanced technologies like 3D printers, CNC (computer numerical control), and circuit and drone kits, this dynamic learning environment encourages students to experiment with new ideas and design, build, test, and engineer creative solutions to real-world challenges.
The second floor of the Williams Family Innovation Hub will provide Forsyth's oldest students with a new, purpose-built learning environment. Beginning with the Class of 2028, Grade 6 students will spend their final year at Forsyth in contemporary classrooms with access to a dedicated common area. These academic spaces will foster greater independence, leadership, and academic exploration, while continuing the cherished traditions established in Gerdine House.
The new Schwarz Science Lab is designed to take scientific exploration beyond traditional instruction. Grade 6 students will be encouraged to ask complex questions, develop hypotheses, and conduct hands-on experiments that deepen critical thinking and foster curiosity. With a flexible layout that accommodates whole-group demonstrations, small-group experiments, and independent research, the lab will help prepare students for the academic challenges of secondary school and beyond.
At Forsyth, students graduate with more than academic readiness—they leave with the mindset, skills, and confidence to thrive as global citizens in a complex world. The Williams Family Innovation Hub will mirror that world: one shaped by technology, creativity, and collaboration.

Innovation & Design Makerspace: ground-floor creative space equipped with the technology and tools to expand Forsyth's signature Innovation & Design program for students in Senior-Kindergarten through Grade 6, including 3D printers, CNC (computer numerical control) machines, hand and power tools, circuit and drone kits, and more
Grade 6 Classrooms (including the Berra-Walsh Classroom) & Schwarz Science Lab: second-floor suite tailored to the Grade 6 student experience, designed to foster leadership, independence, confidence, and collaboration, and preparation for secondary school
Secure & Welcoming Main Entrance: inviting reception area with fireplace, echoing the warmth and charm of our historic homes, plus a dual-layer monitored vestibule and basement storm shelter for added safety
Community Commons: flexible indoor and outdoor spaces designed for small- and large-group gatherings for performances, presentations, art exhibitions, community partnerships, and events
